Today began the fourteen day clear liquid diet that I need to adhere to in order to be ready for my surgery. My routine day over the next two weeks is going to be a protein shake for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. These will be unflavored protein with water and a box of sugar free Jello for flavoring. My snacks are going to be reduced sodium chicken broth, and 2-4oz of apple juice. The snacks will happen three times a day.

So far I’m not feeling very hungry, just sipped away at my protein shake this morning and am now slowly drinking my chicken brother. I’m not going to say that the next fourteen days are going to be easy, but they aren’t exactly shaping up to be as hard as I thought they were going to be when I woke up this morning.

I also spent the day going through my closet and dressers. Since my surgery is coming up, and it’s in the very early part of May by the time Fall and Winter come around I won’t fit into the same size that I am now. It felt rather good to get rid of so many clothes that are my current size and feel pretty confident that by the time I would have needed them when the weather turns cold I will be at least two sizes smaller.

It makes sucking down clear liquids and not having my morning decaf coffee worth it.
